I’ve been going to the Carolina mountains loads and want to get out and explore someplace prestine and restful. Any advice on fresh water boating nearby would be great too.

taking guns into Canada?
Six of us are going to Canada in mid September for a 4 day fly-in fishing trip. Our outfitter has told us that we are very likely to see quite a few moose on our trip. My question is this…as a precautionary measure I would like to a take a my brush rifle along just in case we do encounter an animal with ideas of his own where our well being is concerned. What exactly do I have to do to bring my rifle along? We will be driving in from the US. I found a pice of info saying that I have to declare my gun at my first point of entry, fill out a non-resident form and pay $50.00 dollars? IS this true, is it really that simple, am I likely to be hassled about bringing a gun and, maybe first of all, am I allowed to period?

Will I need a passport to get back into the US after going to Canada?
I am driving into Canada through International Falls in September for a fishing trip. I know that you need one if you’re flying, but will I need one to get back through the checkpoints if I’m driving??

Is there any truth to the rumor that the host of The Kakacast on Polikaka.com, Greg Botello is dead ?
Polikaka.com has been down and there is no new information on the web about the future of the site or the creator/host, Greg Botello. What’s going on? How could Botello not comment on the past US election (Nov. 7th) nor the Iranian Nuclear program? Something must be wrong, where is this guy? Internet chat rooms have noted that Botello was injured in a fly fishing accident earlier this month. Details are unknown. Can anyone clear this up?

Are US Citizens now to be required federal clearances to freely leave and enter US soil?
Are Americans now Prisoners requiring government ”Clearances” to leave the US?
On Jan. 14, 2007, everyone will be on no-fly lists, unless the neo-cons gives permission to leave-or re-enter-the United States.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (HSA) proposes that all airlines, cruise lines-even fishing boats-be required to obtain
clearance for each passenger they propose taking into or out of the US.
Valid U.S. Passports (absent a court order to the contrary) used to offer us the unqualified right to enter or leave the United States, any time we wanted or needed to (for business or pleasure).
When the DHS system comes into effect, if the agency says “no” to a clearance request, or doesn’t answer at all, citizens will not be permitted to enter or leave the US.
Every day elected monarch lil bushy and his neo-cons thuggies without any fanfare or pomp slowly erase more and more of our liberties and c subvert our Constitution … is anyone awake? ..YET!!!
In 1964 Justice Douglas stated “Free movement by the citizen is of course as dangerous to a tyrant as free expression of ideas or the right of assembly and it is therefore controlled in most countries in the interests of security….Freedom of movement, at home and abroad, is important for job and business opportunities — for cultural, political, and social activities — for all the commingling which gregarious man enjoys.
