I’m from the east coast, and I’ve never been to Hawaii, but I’m flying there next week for some job interview with Hawaiian companies: typical upscale white collar Fortune 500 companies.
I have a friend who moved there, and he said formal business attire in Hawaii, is standard business pants or khakis, with an untucked floral print shirt, and if I dress in a normal suit and tie, I’ll actually seem uncultured and unaware of appropriate business custom locally.
So, which is it?
Should I dress in a suit and tie like I would for any other state?
Or do people really show up at job interviews in Hawaii and go to work, in untucked floral print shirts?
