my dog loves to chase birds and he even knows what i mean when i say “i see a bird!” whenever we are on a walk and he sees a bird he wants to chase it. i would really like to do somthing to simulate a bird so he can chase it in the backyard because if i let him off the leash he’d run away. do u think it would be cool if i blew up a baloon and let go without tying it and let it fly around help
The water varies from 3 – 12′ in depth. I have an #8 rod setup with a large diameter spool. Will be up against various winds and currents. The flies are tied on #1 hooks and go up to 3/0. (Serious) Seeking advice on line & leader types from experienced fly fishermen. Thanks.
Im leaving on a cruise in a couple of weeks and we will be at port in key west for a day while on it. I was looking around on the net to see what we could do and i found a place where you can go up in an ultralight floatplane with a guy and he’ll let you fly a little. Its like $80 for 25 minutes but i dont care about price. I told my mom and of course she was a little unsure about the idea (you know how they are). I need some way to convince her. Does anyone know anything that may change her mind? If so please help. Hopefully when i say something to my dad he’ll think otherwise but i still need to convince my mom. Im fourteen and use my brain when i need to so maybe someone could tie that into a reason i should get to do it. hope i dont sound naggy and thanks to all who help

When I go fly fishing, I get fish to bite all of the time. (I usually go nymphing.)
I am new to fly fishing and I only land one out of every twenty fish that take my fly at best.
I am probably setting the hook the wrong way.
How do I land more fish that take my flies?
I’ve been to Bozeman (about 10 years ago) and want to go to MT w/my husband who’s never been there. He’s a fly-fisherman and wants to fish; I’m pretty much in it to just relax, get away from the kids and enjoy the beauty. We want to stay 3-4 days and don’t have a ton of $$. We’ll be traveling (prob by car from Fargo, ND). Any suggestions? Thanks!
