Need some answers preferably from people who are familiar with laws concerning animals?

Our neighbor has 3 dogs that they never let inside. 2 Chiuahua’s and an 8 motnh old Mastiff. Every time my husband and I are out in our backyard, the mastiff jumps on the fence violently and attacks it. She is damaging the fence because I see wood chips fly through the cracks. We can’t see any damage on our side YET. She did pop out one of the fence posts the other day but we just nailed it back in. We have asked our neighbor to tie her up HUNDREDS of times. They do for a day then stop. Not only is it extremely frustrating to have to deal with this when we are outside, but I have 3 dogs myself that I worry about if that dog busts through, and we have a baby on the way! We don’t keep our dogs outside but we do let them out to just run around for an hour or so at a time. My question is what can I do? The dog is still confined to their property so it is not a leash law problem. I fear for my baby and my dogs.
I have called both the police and Animal Control and they told me that because the animal is technically still on their property for now there is nothing they can do.
kk- I am not afraid of any dog or breed. When a dog violently attacks a fence to break through it is not a good dog. I am sorry if you have been at the recieving end of this. maybe you need to train your dogs better. There is a thing called common courtesy. I have 3 dogs myself that we have trained not to bark all day and attack fences one of them being a pit bull. So NO I am not afraid of mastiffs, I am afraid of some idiot irresponsible owner (like your self it sounds) letting their dog break through the fence and attack my dogs or BABY!

Rules question – walk-off ground rule double?

I was just at a triple-A ball game (Tucson vs. Tacoma). With the score tied in the bottom of the tenth, Tucson loaded the bases with none out. The Tucson batter hit a long fly to left center, which hit the warning track and bounced over the fence, and the winning run scored.

I know that if the ball stays in the park, it counts as a single (no matter how far it’s hit), ending the game with a score of 6-5, while if it goes over the fence, it’s a homer, ending the game with a score of 9-5. But bouncing over, it seems to me, is a ground rule double, which should make it automatically 7-5, with 2 RBI for the hitter. However, it was scored a single, with a final score of 6-5.

So what’s the correct ruling? Is this addressed in the official rules?

Why do we hold God to a lower standard than a person?

God is jealous, and that’s okay. God sends homosexuals to Hell, but we imprison people who only beat gays and tie them to a barbed-wire fence to die. God killed all the people in the world (including their unborn babies) but we…well you get the idea. Oh, and God will damn you for calling him a jerk, when we will fight to the death to protect our freedom of speech in America. How does this 2nd rate morality fly with the faithful?

What do you think of my poem?

Little bird sitting on the fence.
Little bird, you had a moment.
Little bird flies away.
Little bird should seize the day.

Now for an explanation. The “little bird” in my poem refers to this boy I was casually dating, and then he went for a girl who was more interested in commitment, but he really didn’t like her. So, they broke up, and now he is talking to me. So by having the “little bird sitting on the fence” it signifies my borderline feelings toward him. He had his chance at dating me, but he sort of blew it the first time by committing to another girl when I still wasn’t sure about him. Little bird flies away sort of signifies he’s just so wishy washy about things. Like, if things get rough he thinks he’ll get something else. I kind of feel like a second choice… but there is still some sadness tied to feeling like he is going to go a second time. “little bird, seize the day ” is rather self explanatory. I chose “little bird”, because I feel he isn’t tough enough to man up to anything. So, a little bird is rather weak and can’t really hold up to much. When the going gets tough, he’ll just fly away. -sigh-
I think what is lovely about poetry is that everyone can interpret it in different ways.
I was giving you my explanation for writing it. You are allowed to your own interpretation of the poem.
=)
I liked the little bird missed your chance, but I want the meaning to be slightly fuzzy and I want the persona of the bird to be kept.
Dancing isn’t something birds do, but maybe I could find another verb.
Slightly revised for readers pleasure.

Little bird put me in a trance.
Little bird lost your chance.
