Last Joke for the day,,,hahaha or boo!!!???star for hahah pls-long one?
I took some friends out to dinner last week, and I noticed a spoon in the shirt pocket of our waiter as he handed us the menus. It seemed a little odd, but I dismissed it as a random thing. Until our busboy came with water & tableware; he too, sported a spoon in his breast pocket. I looked around the room, and all the waiters, waitresses, busboys, etc. had spoons in their pockets.
When our waiter returned to take our order, I just had to ask, “Why the spoons?”
“Well,” he explained, “our parent company recently hired some Andersen Consulting efficiency experts to review all our procedures, and after
months of statistical analyses, they concluded that our patrons drop spoons on the floor 73% more often than any other utensil; at a frequency of 3 spoons per hour per workstation. By preparing all our workers for this contingency in advance, we can cut our trips to the kitchen down and save time…nearly 1.5 extra man-hours per shift.
Just as he concluded, a “ch-ching” came from the table behind him, and he quickly replaced a fallen spoon with the one from his pocket.
“I’ll grab another spoon the next time I’m in the kitchen instead of making a special trip,” he proudly explained. I was impressed. “Thanks. I had to ask.” “No problem,” he answered, then he continued to take our orders.
As the members of my dinner party took their turns, my eyes darted back & forth from each person ordering and my menu. That’s when, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a thin, black thread protruding from our waiter’s fly. Again, I dismissed it; yet I had to scan the room and, sure enough, there were other waiters & busboys with strings hanging out of their trousers.
My curiosity overrode discretion at this point, so before he could leave I had to ask. “Excuse me, but…uh…why, or what…about that string?”
“Oh, yeah” he began in a quieter tone. “Not many people are that observant. That same efficiency group found we could save time in the Men’s room, too.” “How’s that, I asked?” “You see, by tying a string to the end of our, eh. . ., selves, we can pull it out at the urinals literally hands-free and thereby eliminate the need to wash our hands, cutting time spent in the restroom by over 93%!”
“Oh, that makes sense,” I said, but then thinking through the process, I asked, “Hey, wait a minute. If the string helps you pull it out, how do you get it back in?”
“Well,” he whispered, “I don’t know about the other guys; but I use the spoon in my pocket”!
Okay – What to wear?
Okay, so – My 21st is coming up, and I’m like super excited. My boyfriend is taking me out to dinner the night before for just a like private romantic night, but the actual night of my birthday – everyone is going out to party (And then the day after, I’m flying to Hawaii with my boyfriend for a week)
Anyways – for literally like two months, I have been trying to find the perfect party dress for when we go out.
It has to be a bright color (Preferable pink) and it needs to stand out, I want all eyes on me.
I want people to know it’s my night!
Normally, it would have been easy for me to find something, there was a really cute pink dress at Nordstroms that I liked but I didn’t like that the back was covered up, I want it to be backless or tied.
Links would be great!
Nice brands please, don’t care about how much it costs.
Meaning like Nordstroms, Saks, Neiman, etc…nothing below that.
Listen to my Stupid Dreams?
My thoughts keep pacing back inside my head. These birds keep flying underneath my bed. I got to get my thoughts free before they float away. i’ve been laying here thinking of that faithful day… My thoughts… They don’t stop… Nothings changed… My lifes the same… With or without you i must keep my brain sane…. My thoughts they twist and turn changing constantly. I think of you, a sea of beutiful on every drop there in. I can still remember way back when… We we’re beutiful… You we’re adorable… same life… nothings changed… you’ve just floated away… My thoughts… They don’t stop… Nothings changed… My lifes the same… with or without you I must keep my brain sane!!! My thoughts slow down and the birds.. Fly away. Everything is clear, I found my purpose, now I know why I’m here… The lizard’s on the beach when the frog steals the mushroom. The bright sun in the sky has a butterfly for his tie and the bird takes it with him. My thoughts… They drive me insane!
Sad Story :(?
Her hair was up in a pony tail, her favorite dress tied with a bow,Today was “Daddy’s Day” at school, and she couldn’t wait to go,But her mummy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home,Why the kids might not understand, if she went to skool alone
But she was not afraid, she knew just what to say, what to tell her classmates of why he wasn’t there today But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone.
But the little girl went to school eager to tell them all. Of a dad whos never there a dad who never calls.
One by one the teacher called a student from the class. To introduce their daddy, as seconds slowly passed. At last the teacher called her name, every child turned to stare. Each of them was searching, for a man who wasn’t there…
“Where’s her daddy” she heard a boy call out.”She probably doesn’t have one,” another student dared to shout. And from somewhere near the back, she heard another father say, “Looks like another dad, too busy to waste his day.” …
The words did not offend her, as she smiled up at her Mum. And looked back at her teacher, who told her to go on. slowly she began to speak and from the mouth of a child, came words incredibly unique ..
“My Daddy couldn’t be here, because he lives so far away. But I know he wishes he could be, since this is such a special day And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know. All about my daddy and how much he loves me so,He loved to tell me stories…
surprised me with pink roses , and taught me to fly kite.We used to share fudge sundaes, and ice cream in a cone. And though you cannot see him. I’m not standing here alone. Cause my daddy’s always with me,
I know because he told me, he’ll forever be in my heart” With that, her little hand reached up, and lay across her chest. Feeling her own heartbeat, beneath her favorite dress And from somewhere in the crowd of dads, her mother stood in tears..
watching her daughter, who was wise beyond her years. And when she dropped her hand back down, staring sraight into the croud She finished with a voice so soft, but its message clear and loud. “I love my daddy very much, he’s my shining star..
And if he could, he’d be here, but heaven’s just too far. You see he was a fireman and died just this past year When airplanes hit the towers and taught us all how to fearBut sometimes when I close my eyes, it’s like he never went away.”…
And then she closed her eyes, and saw him there that day.And to her mother’s amazement, she witnessed with surpriseA room full of daddies and children, all starting to close their eyes. Who knows what they saw before them…
Who knows what they saw before them, who knows what they felt inside.Perhaps for merely a second, they saw him at her side “I know you’re with me Daddy,” to the silence she called outAnd what happened next made believers, of those once filled with..
doubt. Not one in that room could explain it, for each of their eyes had been closed But there on the desk beside her, was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose
I hoped you liked my poem i hope it brought a tear to your eye and i hope you will allways rember , all the people who died the 11 of september .
so what do you think of my day?
So anything like this every happen to you?
True Story
This morning I jumped on my horse,
And went out for a ride,
And some wild outlaws chased me
And they shot me in the side.
So I crawled into a wildcat’s cave
To find a place to hide,
But some pirates found me sleeping there,
And soon they had me tied
To a pole and built a fire
Under me—I almost cried
Till a mermaid came and cut me loose
And begged to be my bride,
So I said I’d come back Wednesday
But I must admit I lied.
Then I ran into a jungle swamp
But I forgot my guide
And I stepped into some quicksand,
And no matter how I tried
I couldn’t get out, until I met
A water snake named Clyde,
Who pulled me to some cannibals
Who planned to have me fried.
But an eagle came and swooped me up
And through the air we flied,
But he dropped me in a boiling lake
A thousand miles wide.
And you’ll never guess what I did then—
I DIED.
