I go to college in Florida. My parents, who live in Vermont, just moved to Virginia. The address on my Vermont driver’s license is now out of date. I have no ties to Virginia and in fact would have to fly up there just to get a license if that’s what I have to do. I would prefer to get a Florida license, but don’t have a permanent address out here other than a P.O. Box. Should I get a Virginia or Florida license? Can I use the P.O. Box address on a Florida license? I have a part time job in Florida so I could use my pay stubs to prove residency, if that helps. Also, when I get the license am I going to have to take a test or just swap my old license? Thanks.
My college considers me to be a Vermont resident still. My employer pays me through direct deposit and I don’t think they list an address on my pay stubs, but the only address they have on file for me is my old Vermont one. I don’t know if I could get a Virginia license because I don’t have any proof of residency there. Also, getting a Florida license with my dorm address is troublesome because my dorm address changes every year. Seems like that’s my best bet, though.
