If I travel by air to Mexico before January 23, will a driver’s license be sufficient identification?

I am a nanny and my boss just asked me yesterday if I would be willing to travel with her family to Mexico for their fishing trip so I could watch the kids. I would love to go but fear I do not have the proper identification to fly into Mexico. I have a passport but lost it years ago and never had it replaced. I have not seen my birth certificate in many years either. All I have is a driver’s license. I have read on some websites that a D.L. is sufficient but on others they say you need a D.L. and a birth certificate together. The problem is that we are leaving a week from today and I don’t know if that will be enough time to get my birth certificate replaced, especially in California where average wait time is 30 days. If anyone has any information or suggestions, I would be much obliged.

How do I tell my family that my fiancee and I eloped?

We are flying to California for vacation, and while we are there taking a road trip to Reno to tie the knot. Most of my family wants a traditional wedding for me, but we know that none of us will be able to afford it. So we’re doing a quick ceremony in a little chapel in Reno. I want to tell them when I get back, but how in the world do I do it? And how do I let the rest of the family know? Most of them live several hours away and it’s not practical to drive over and show them the rings. But I don’t want to just call. Any in-between ideas? Thanks!
