The various ATs are good, but are the Tie Fighters, and similiar medium sized flying ships any good? I always crash in them, is it worth it to learn how to use them?

Star Wars Battlefront II Best Moments?
What was the funniest, coolest, etc. moment you had while playing this game?
Mine is pretty cool. I was the Rebels on the “Space Hoth” map. I hopped in a Rebel Transport Ship and had 5 others in with me. I blew up several ships, then I flew in the enemy Star Destroyer and landed. My soldiers and I exited (and I could now spawn at enemy territory) and started fending off many Imperial soldiers, the toughest being the Imperial Marine. I then blew up all the inner-ship components in the three rooms that lie before me. Victory would soon be ours as I blew up TIE Fighters with my Rocket Launcher.
That is definately the most fun I ever had in a Third Person Shooter game.
