Entry from: Normandy, France Entry Title: “Through Rouen to the Normandy coast” Entry: “Didn’t really stay long in Rouen, we were on our way to Normandy we like the Normandy coast and its villages the best We visited Mons St Michelle and walked its cobbled streets. Along with what seemed like the whole population of France. Peter walked up to the basilica at the top. I stayed in the town and ate ice cream …… now who is the clever one. We paid a visit to the American War Cemetery on the D Day landing sites on the Normandy beaches. A very moving experience. Thousands of young soldiers lost their lives. The cemetery is beautifully kept up by the French. Many homes fly French, English, Canadian, American and Australian Flags in recognition of the sacrifice made in WWII. It is pleasing to see that the contribution of all the Allied forces is recognised and respected. There are various monuments all along this section of the coast with a recent addition of a Canadian monument. We stayed overnight at a pretty fishing village. The whole of Normandy is a very pleasant area of France” Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. “Mont St Michelle seems to rise from the sand” 2. “At Mont St Michelle” 3. “The population of France” 4. “Mont St Michelle” 5. “Inside Mont St Michelle” 6 …
