Time

Upon my watch, three hands tell me the time,
The mirror shows a different degree,
Forgotten thoughts with words that do not rhyme,
Meander down the road to lunacy.

Shine your shoes up!
Put on your tie!
Let’s go outside…
And find a place to fly!

Come and gone for me to see, believed,
The ocean tides, rivers wide, crimson sky,
How will I know when God has called to me?
Upon my watch, three hands tell me the time.

  1. I just checked to see if you’d made any changes. This is one of my favorite forms, and one of my favorite poems of yours. It’s been about a month since I last read it–I still like it a lot.

Nice form, excellent imagery, and the poem itself has symmetry to it. Very nice, overall. (You really like three stanza poems, don’t you?)
