  1. I used to live in the Black Hills and there were numerous excellent fly fishing streams with very few people in them/fishing them. THe Bighorns of Wyoming are excellent in this regard as many people pass through them on their way to the Tetons or Yellowstone ignoring the beauty they provide.
    Out west though, the best chance for solitude is May to early June and September to early October when the number of tourists are reduced greatly.

  2. I used to fish at a pretty awesome spot in Colorado. Check the South Platte river near Colorado Springs. There’s some wonderful fishing there…and not too crowded.

    seriously the best place is the place YOU find after fishing many places , you have to find the uncrowded places yourself as they will be crowded before long if advertized…. my fav place to fish is an ordinary lake…. not special to others but to me it is…..
