I mean besides praying and flying your flags at half-mast after a bunch of kids have been shot to death and maimed, I don’t see you people (who don’t allow email contact BTW) offer any ideas what to do about the growing cult of school-yard mass murder.
I mean here are young people conveniently packed into schoolrooms easier than shootin’; fish in a barrel and plenty of people are willing and able to get guns and do it.
So whatya say, besides getting out your bible and waving your flag what would you do about it?
DID YOUR MOTHER EVER TELLYOU THAT YOU WERE AN IDIOT?
NEWS FLASH, SHE WAS RIGHT!

We didn’t have this problem till they made schools gun free zones.

Who says there is a solution? Certainly if the school had armed security patrolling the number of dead most likely would not have gotten to the numbers it did. Why is just the GOP or the NRA problem to fix? The NRA for years has been saying these “gun free zones” are an open invitation to this kind of tragedy.
Can’t stop a nutcase from going bezerk. Knee jerk feel good laws like the Brady Bill and the AWB resulted in no lessening of these types of events. Should we just keep adding more legislation upon more legislation in the hopes it may have a minuscule effect? The only thing gun laws do is punish the law abiding citizen from exercising his right to own a gun.
Why not work on figuring out why this known human defect was not in the system. So when he did attempt purchase of a gun, a red flag would have popped up in the background check?
The gun laws worked as they are intended. He was of legal age and residency. The background check found no reason to deny him. Wasn’t anything else anybody could have done.
There used to be a time in our history where everybody carried a gun openly and we didn’t have the problems we do today. Its not the guns or how easy they can be obtained, it’s the people. The nutcases slipping through the cracks.

I could argue you could save more lives by banning foreign students. The (9/11 attack was carried out by people on student visias. The Bosnian mall shooter in Salt Lake City was a student (they don’t mention him because he didn’t rack up as high a count before a legally armed citizen stopped him, gun control people like to ignore events where legally armed citizens stop crime). In Isreal school faculty/staff can legally carry arms, and they have no school shootings. VT successfully challenged a legal concealed carry permit holder in court over a year ago saying their campus would be safer without firearms, and a state law to protect teh second ammendment rights were defeated. but that sentiment didn’t stop a repeatedly accused stalker, an arsonist who was in declared need of mental help. It didn’t even get him a criminal record, without which, no one would know he was a criminal when tehy did a background check. The columbine nuts likewise were no mystery, the mystery was, likewise, why nobody did anything to prevent their attack. When you see a problem you deal with it, you don’t ignore it and hope for a miracle toc hange things for you. That attitude isn’t what built this country, but that ignorance is what will destroy it.

i am most definately not a member of the gop, but i do believe in our 2nd amendment rights, and just as the govt cant keep drugs off the streets and out of the hands of criminals, even if they banned all guns that wouldnt keep them out of the hands of criminals it would only disarm the law abiding citizens among us imagine what that would be like youre in bed sleeping and you wake to the sounds of someone in your house coming towards your room where you and your spouse are armed with golf clubs or whatever your non gun weapon of choice may be you call 911 but we all know how much can happen in the couple of minutes until they get there he walks into your room pointing a gun at you you raise your weapon what ever it may be but he pops a few in each of you and is out of there before the cops get there when the cops finally arrive they call doa
in a fingerprint safe beside my bed is a handgun i have had it for 6 yrs and aside from a few trips to the range so i can be secure that i remember how to use it quickly in an emergency, it has never been fired hopefully it will stay that way , but my husband works nights and i live near a busy truckstop im sorry if you are offended by this, but if some creep comes into my house in the middle of the night and it isnt my husbands voice that responds to me, my life and that of my child will have a chance because i have been well trained and own a firearm for my protection and because it is a fingerprint safe my husband or i can open it quickly but my daughter is safe from it
banning guns is not the solution to this, more thurough background checks and even his shrink reporting his mental facility stay like they were supposed to could have helped, but banning guns would just have made him get them off the black market or use another means to kill them like a bomb or something in a perfect system he should have gone to jail immediately for lying about his mental history on the application because that should have been in the states records and thats the real problem here not the guns
so my solution is to put a better system in place to screen potential gun buyers like cho and hold the shrink accountable for not reporting this
